This just in… we’ve booked headlining performers for the January and February 2009 Apple Crisp Concerts:

Arts and Crafts:

The gift-giving season is approaching, so we see 2 special art and/or craft events this weekend.

  1. Made 4 You is celebrating its one-year anniversary with hot cider and home-baked treats, music, door prizes and a store-wide sale.  Very special!  Saturday 10-6pm, 122 Princess Street.
  2. NGB Studios is holding its Christmas Open House — pottery, paintings, blacksmithing, conscious clothing, and more.  Sunday 10-6pm, 12 Cataraqui Street.

Arts and Dinner:

The Artel is holding its second Pasta The Artist Please Dinner, where anyone creatively-inclined can sit around eating homemade pasta and chat.  This one looks more laid back than the MC hosted “knights of the round table” spectacle last Spring.  Only $5 for dinner and fine company.  Saturday 6pm, The Artel.

Gen X Revival:

Cameo Cinema and the Wolfe Island Ferry Cabal will do a free screening of the cult teen classic Heathers.  Return to a more innocent time, when school shootings, suicide bombings, dead jocks and bottled water were funny.  Sunday 8pm, The Artel.

CFRC hosts a DJ Night and zine release. This will be an actual print zine! This is a great time to be in photocopy-publishing. Monday 8pm, The Grad Club.

Music:

Stars. Tuesday @ The Sydenham St. United Church
The Creepshow, w/ Liquorbox + Clockwize Sound. Wednesday @ Bar None

Coming Soon:

  • Angela Desveau @ The Artel (Nov 29)
  • SoulJazz Orchestra @ Alfies (Dec 6)
  • 2nd Annual Modern Fuel Fire Sale @ Modern Fuel (Dec 11)
