Something for everyone:

If you like to sit still, enter Into the Magic Soundbox, a CFRC live performance featuring fiddle, Hurdy-Gurdy and shadow puppets among a spectral spray of sounds.  (Friday Feb 6, 6pm & 9pm @ Queen Street United Church / sliding scale $5-10)

If you like to move around, go to Soul Shakedown for rare dance grooves: funk, soul to Latin, Brazilian, Pan-African, Arabic, Asian Dub, Bhangra and more.  Lots of fun.  (Saturday Feb 7, 9pm @ Time to Laugh Comedy Club)

If you like to calmly observe ambiguity, reelout’s Closing Gala screening looks very promising — XXY, an Argentinian film about an intersex teenager.  (Sunday Feb 8, 7pm Etherington Auditorium / $10-$15)

If you like minor surprises, watch the Cameo Cinema Mystery Movie.  What will the movie be?  Your only clues: a) it’s entertaining, and b) it runs under 100 minutes.  (Thursday Feb 5, 8pm @ The Artel, 205 Sydenham Street / free admission)
