In Kingston: Miracle Fruit Flavour Tripping

Posted Wednesday, February 25th, 2009 by wendy | 2 Comments

Miracle fruit — it temporarily rewires your tastes buds to make sour flavours taste deliciously sweet.  Lemons taste like lemonade, vinegar tastes great, and so on.  Modern Fuel is having a miracle fruit tasting and dance party, DJ’d by Toronto artist Luis Jacob (formerly of The Hidden Cameras).  $10 at the door buys you one Miracle Fruit tablet, flavour shots and unlimited dancing. Additional tablets are $3 each.  Whoa!

Sweet! Cant wait for this. Are these the tabs from theworldsbestfruit.com? My friend Chris is going to University in California and he’s been to several flavour tripping parties there. Says those are the best, they dont taste so bitter themselves. Will there be fruit to try? I’m dying to see if I’ll really like grapefruit on one of these. See you Friday!

I’m glad you’ve heard of miracle fruit, a lot of people haven’t! I didn’t order the tabs and can’t remember where they are from but they aren’t from the company you mentioned. I have tried them though and they aren’t bitter at all, quite tasty actually. I’ll ask and let you know.

We will have a whole range of fruit and other things to try, most for free. There are a few things like guiness or sour jello shooters that we will have to charge for because of liquor laws but it won’t be too expensive.
