A night of experimental folk:

“When The Weather Station’s Tamara Lindeman (also of Entire Cities) felt called to express the pain of recent losses, she picked up her banjo, and random household objects, and taught herself to slowly and meticulously document the experience. Four friends joined and the resulting tunes are vast, honest, and gloriously sad.” — Eye Weekly

“Lo-fi. It makes you think of early-nineties basement tapes, doesn’t it? Songs about Ikea and Winona Ryder – Gen X slackers stepping out and never quite stepping up. Or, conversely, you think about the early days of recording. Equipment that never lost that homey, electronic buzz, a sound nestled in an increasingly modern place and time. Either way there’s a rebellious quality to your lo-fi recordings and simultaneously a sense of place whether it’s your parent’s basement or a down-on-its-luck city in rural Oklahoma.”
